I Tried an Ubud Indian Restaurant Worth Visiting – Here's the Tea

The moment I got the chance to spend a holiday in Bali, Ubud was at the top of my itinerary. I wanted something different from Bali's famous beaches. Gorgeous? sure, but always packed with crowds. Ubud fit exactly what I was looking for, with its lush green rice terraces, deep rooted culture, and a slower pace of life that felt like a proper reset. Turns out, that decision led me straight to an Ubud Indian restaurant that became one of the most memorable parts of my trip.

A Simple Ubud Indian Restaurant in Jalan Sukma

I came across this experience while strolling along Jalan Sukma, one of the quieter streets near the center of Ubud. The area is filled with cafés, boutique shops, guesthouses, and wellness spots. It's a pleasant place to wander without any particular plan.

My family and I were simply looking for a place to have lunch, when a modest Ubud Indian restaurant caught our attention. It was a small café with a sign that read “Chai of the Tiger Indian Fusion”. It did not look flashy, but something about it made us curious enough to stop and take a closer look.

To be honest, I had tried Indian food a few times before. The flavors are rich in spices, yet still enjoyable and well balanced. I liked it, but I had never gone out of my way to look for it. That day was different. I happened to be in the mood for something familiar but a little different. So we walked in with zero expectations, just hoping for a good meal.
